Celebrate Michele- A Cancer Fundraiser

Join us for a Night of Celebratory Mayhem as Night Club Forbidden is transformed to become Studio 54 for a night of dancers, music, Sisters, Michele's Birthday Party/Cancer Fund Raiser, Pudding Shots, Raffle, Auction and MORE!

Celebrate Michele is a fundraiser for Michele deLaFreniere, a well-known activist and leader in the lgbt community and former member of the Scottsdale Human Relations Commission. Michele was diagnosed with liver and bone cancer this spring. It has now spread to her brain and lungs. Representatives from every segment of the community have come together to organize this fundraiser which is sponsored by Tom and Roberta Anderson of Forbidden. This is an event not to be missed!

The party kicks off Saturday, July 18th at 7:00PM with a $5 suggested donation at the door at Night Club Forbidden located at 6820 E. 5th Ave in Scottsdale and is going all night long.

Volunteer with Equality Arizona for Pride 2009!

Pride is Saturday, April 18th & Sunday, April 19th from Noon to 9:00PM at the Steele Indian School Park at 3rd Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix. Volunteering for one or more 4 hour shifts will grant you free entry into Pride that day! Please sign up to volunteer and help us make this a successful Pride!

We need volunteers for 8 booths, and this year we have some exciting new booths. Along with our Info & Sales booths, we will have a brand-new Beverage Zone. The Beverage Zone will include booths for Water & Soda, Beer, Margaritas, and Vodka mixed drinks. You must be 18 years or older to volunteer at nonalcoholic booths and 21 and over to serve alcohol.
Not only that, but we have partnered with Fair Trade Café and will have a coffee booth to keep everyone energized!

We need volunteers for the following shifts Saturday and Sunday:
11:00AM to 3:00PM, 1:00PM to 4:00PM, 3:00PM to 6:00PM, 4:00PM to 7:00PM, 6:00PM to 9:00PM

Please email marilee@equalityarizona.org and let Marilee know which shifts you can volunteer for Saturday and/or Sunday, and which booths you have an interest in, and let me know if you have any questions. Let's make this a Pride to remember!

The 2009 FireFighters Chili Challenge

Can you take the heat? Find out on Saturday, February 28th as the 2nd Annual Fire Fighters Chili Challenge kicks off at 11:00am. Join fire fighters from all over the Valley as they come together in downtown Phoenix at Washington Street from 1st to 4th Avenue to battle each other and find out "WHO WILL REIGN SUPREME" as the next Chili Challenge champion.

Come and enjoy a day of great music, excellent food, and loads of fun. All proceeds benefit the United Phoenix Fire Fighters Charity, who have been and continue be amazing allies! Click here for more information.

Amber Darland Live at the Fair Trade Cafe!

Monday, March 2nd join us at the Fair Trade Cafe from 7:00pm to 10:00pm for an Amber Darland performance live. It's a $5.00 suggested donation, all proceeds go to Equality Arizona.
